This will be done by providing case studies, practical experiences, recent research findings and a variety of study visits and exercises.

The programme is developed together with different municipalities and provides leaders with the tools required to create their own strategies and become drivers for change. It discusses the four main principles of good governance: capacity building; transparency and accountability; working in partnership with key stakeholders; citizens’ engagement and better communication.

Summer School on EU Economic Integration and Local & Regional Development

Barcelona, 30 June - 4 July 2014 • Find out more

During this Summer School, in the first part of the week, the main aspects of economic integration, financial crisis and regional development and its drivers in the EU will be highlighted; regional economic policies in view of the EU 2020 financial period will then be progressively presented.

The second part will illustrate how municipalities and regions may steer their own economic destiny, and boost growth while at the same time enhancing territorial cohesion and making smart use of the available EU supportive resources.

In the final part, a comparative analysis of public management excellence cases, their positive impact and seven steps to reach them are provided.
