Istanbul University is going to be supported as the implementing organization in TUBITAK BIGG Programme

Istanbul University Istanbul Technopolis deserved to be supported as the implementing organization in the "1512 Techno-initiative Capital Support Program" (BIGG) which was opened in 2016 within 1601 - TUBITAK Support Program for Increasing Capacity in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Areas.

Istanbul University is going to be among the Implementing Organizations that will carry out the first stage processes in the BIGG call which is going to be opened in the first months of 2017. In the first stage of BIGG, the works which entrepreneurs present their business ideas to the implementing agencies, the implementing agencies evaluate these business ideas and provide business entrepreneurs services such as education, guidance and incubation for the business ideas likely to turn into a successful business are going to be carried out. The first stage will be completed with the application of the entrepreneur with the business plan to the TUBITAK until the deadline that is indicated in the call of techno-initiative capital support.

Business plans that are eligible to apply to the 2nd stage of the program by participating in the BIGGIST program will be subjected to the 2nd stage evaluation of BIGG by the expert panellists selected by TUBITAK. TUBITAK will provide financial support for up to 150.000 TL to the business plan owners passing the 2nd phase evaluation to establish their own companies and make technological verification by developing the prototype of business ideas.

Business ideas will turn into economical value

BIGG Implementing Agency means the system in which the entrepreneurial ecosystem is matured at the relevant establishment, the pre-incubation and incubation centres operate functionally and the necessary mechanisms are established. Both academics and university students and also those who have got a good business idea can develop in this ecosystem and can turn their business ideas into economic value.
