IMPROVEMENT AND CURRENT STATUS

The activities of İSTEM are summarized below

1. To initiate more effective and systematic activities for the postgraduate education in the two medical faculties of Istanbul University- Istanbul Medical Faculty and Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty.

2. To provide technical, technological and physical infrastructure for the effective postgraduate activities and the necessary organizations to be held when needed.

3. To improve the visual communication system which is used by some surgery clinics in Istanbul Medical Faculty and Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty so that it can be used in all the other branches as well. So that all kinds of educational and scientific meetings can be held together through the teleconference system between these two faculties and efficiency can be increased accordingly

4. To improve telecommunication system between these two faculties and to spread all over the country. So that the training, knowledge, and information potential of these two faculties will be used by the other universities and hospitals in the country as well. For example, the scientific meetings and surgeries held in these two faculties can be watched alive by the other hospitals. Medical Institutions that have necessary infrastructure for telemedicine system can watch all these activities live in their own hospital and participate interactively, they do not need to leave their places. Therefore more effective and efficient scientific association can be realized between the medical institutions.

5. To support the telemedicine system all over the country and help to create 'National Telemedicine System'

6. With this National Telemedicine system, Teleconsultation and Teleassistance opportunities will be used in different Hospitals and institutions and medical system will improve due to cooperation and support between the doctors.
