Istanbul University offers health services to its students at the five medico-social centres situated at various places on the campuses and at the two faculties of Medicine which are among the best health institutions of Turkey.
Initial points to which all students registered at Istanbul University should apply for health-related problems are the Medico-social centres affiliated to the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports. Students are examined at these centres, and supplied with health reports and prescriptions. Medication is dispensed at the Istanbul University Application Pharmacies, in compliance with the budgetary means of the Students Social Services Unit Accounts Office. If the need arises, students are referred to the hospitals of the University. Initial examinations and treatment are provided for them and their families, irrespective of whether or not they are covered by a social security scheme. Treatment at the Medico-social centers is followed up, if necessary, at the hospitals of the faculties of Medicine.
