Academic Celander
In accordance with the restructuring which was begun in 1998, the educational activities of Istanbul University are organized to fit a standard calendar.
The academic year begins in October. The first week of this month is a time for inauguration celebrations which start with an opening ceremony and then followed by a variety of conferences, symposiums, and seminars open to students and organized by faculties and colleges. The program ends with a students’ festivity that takes place on our Beyazıt campus where the Faculty of Economics is situated.
The winter term starts in October and ends in the first half of January. Spring term is from February to the end of May. Examinations are given at the end of each term. Students who fail in these exams can attend the summer school.
