Departments »Business Administration

The mission of the Department of Business Administration is to educate qualified managers especially in International Business Management which are needed by our country. The reason of the organizing our department as a department of the Faculty of Economics instead of organizing as a Faculty of Business Administration, opposed to the business administration education policy in our country is our belief about the importance of basic economics knowledge for the managers. For this purpose, providing the necessary education to our students, in order to deal with various managerial problems and decide on the optimal solutions is one of the main principles of our department. The greater number of lectures of Economics, Public Finance, Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, Econometrics and International Relations taken by our students relative to other students of the Faculties of Business Management provides not only a perspective of micro level manager but also analyzing the macro level factors that create the outer environment of the organization.
In the first two years, a basic education on economics, business administration, mathematics, statistics, law and computer sciences and in the third and fourth years, intermediate and advanced level lectures in all business management disciplines are given in our department. In the last two years these lectures are supported by the lectures of other disciplines like, quantitative decision making techniques, banking and financial institutions, and Turkish tax system, In addition to these lectures, in each semester of the last year, students have the right of having two different elective lectures in order to specialize in a certain business management discipline. In our department there is also a one year compulsory english language preparation education which continues also in the first and second semesters. In each year at least one lecture (a total of 5 lectures), which is determined by the department, is given in english.
