Plant Biotechonology Laboratory

 

Clonal produciton/propagation of various plants like corns, medicinal plants, forest trees by tissue culture technique. Detection of tolerance to abiotic stress conditions as salt, drought, pressure by molecular and fenotipic tests. Gene transfer to plants.


Researches:

Micropropagation of ornamentals and forest trees that are used for landscaping.

Plant Genomics Research Laboratory

 

Analyses of motilities in plant genome on chromosomal and transposonal level. Structural and functional analysis of genes important for biotechnology.

  1. Extraction of macromolecules (DNA, RNA, protein) from plants.
  2. Genotyping of accessions with molecular markers.
  3. Functional analysis of specific genes by real-time PCR

Plant Pathology Laboratory

 

Molecular diagnosis of bacterial and fungal pathogens (Pseudomonas, Fusarium) causing diseases in economically important crops. Chemotyping studies in fungal species for determination of their specifically produced toxins.

  2. Chemotyping of Fusarium spp. Strains for their mycotoxin production.

Yeast Biotechnology and Genomics Research Lab

 

 

Relationship between magnesium transportation and mitotic microtubules formation in Schizosaccharomyces pombe, gene expression profiling of copper induced responses  in the fission yeast, molecular mechanisms of glucose repression, production of biotechnologically  important products through recombinant DNA technology in large quantities in yeast and using yeast cells as a model organism for determining the objectives and activities new molecules

  2. Macromolecule (DNA, RNA, protein) isolation from yeasts.
  3. Developing of Industrial microorganism using mutagenesis and recombinant DNA technology

  1. Determination of various otoimmune disease as Romatoid artrid, skleroderma, Behçet's disease and infectious diseases as tuberculosis, lepra on molecular level.
  2. Molecular genetic analyses for diagnosis and treatment of genetically origined diseases .
