This is one of the newer schools of Istanbul University. It was founded in 2001 and offers programmes in Irrigation Technology, and the Manufacture of Cellulose and Paper. Schooling is for a two-year period. The Programme of Irrigation Technology Irrigation technology has been gaining importance since the 1980’s as municipalities focus on and allocate funds for environmental design. In urban planning, the planning and controlling
institutions demand environmental design and environmental design causes an increase in demand. As a result, the number of firms dealing with landscape gardening have increased. Meanwhile the landscape gardening and building firms have made controlled and economic irrigation an important element of their activities. In the formation of the programme of irrigation technology, the requirements of the sector and our country were taken into consideration. As the programme is based on application and practice, the students keep strong contact with the companies involved. The Programme for the Manufacture of Cellulose and Paper This programme aims to train intermediary personnel needed in the paper and cardboard sector in Turkey. Alumni can easily find jobs in private and public factories and practice the knowledge they have gained in school.
