Education in this school covers a period of 8 terms (4 years). The students can also take the voluntary preparatory English programme. If they attend this programme, the education extends to 5 years. As the world economy shifts fast from localism to globalisation and the markets adopt a liberal structure, the formations in both the customeroriented markets and industry change and the importance of transportation and logistic services increases. While the industrial and servicing companies
tend to direct almost all of their work to their special field and get other companies (outsources) to conduct service they do not specialize in, such as transportation, storing and customs procedures, the demand on the services of transportation and logistics rises. Since international economic relations develop fast and almost every sector benefits from new technologies, the firms have to employ high-quality staff. In such a process one of most functional sectors is the sector of transportation and logistics. The aim of this school is to cater for this sector and train the personnel The School of Transportation and Logistics began education in the 1999-2000 academic year. It has two departments, Air Transportation and Land Transportation.
