The College of Technology has a wideranging
educational programme and its alumni
take the title of technician as they find their
place in the world of business. Even undergraduates
are offered places in industrial institutions.
The duration of training is four terms (two years)
and education consists of 17 programmes. Night
school is also offered alongside regular courses.
The Programme of Printing caters for technical
staff demands during the process of printing (before,
during, and after printing processes). Modern
innovations in printing technologies necessitate the
recruiting of qualified technicians. Alumni find
work as editors or graphic designers in fields such
as type-setting, printing or photographic montage
in the press, printing houses or advertising agencies.
The Programme of Control Systems Technology
trains technicians in the fields of basic mechanical,
electrical, electronic, air operated or hydrolic
systems in industrial factories, and the computerized
controlling and maintenance of these systems.

The Programme of Computer Programming
teaches software and informatics technologies,
the development of informatics, project management,
and the use of basic equipments (Nowell, Unix
Netware and Windows NT).
The Programme of Electricity teaches the
production of electricity, its control, transmission
and distribution, its usage in heating, lighting
and power production, the production, testing
and evaluation of electrical equipment, the safe
installation of electricity in buildings, and the
maintenance of electrical apparel.
The Programme of Communication Education
teaches, as well as general

analogous and digital
electronics, subjects such as telephone, radio and
television, wired or cordless and aerial communications,
and the technical operation of these instruments,
micro operators and their use in the transmission
of information, and their maintenance. The aim
of the programme is to train technicians able to
act as links with administrators and engineers in
the digital electronic planning, application, maintenance
and repair of electrical, computer-programmed,
auto-controlled space and surface systems.
The Programme of Leather Manifacturing
teaches the structure of processed and raw leather,
the physical and chemical processes used in
transforming leather from its raw state to processed
leather and thus caters for the demand in industry
for technicians in the field.
The Programme of Radio and Television
Broadcasting trains such broadcasting staff as
cameramen and producers to satisfy the demand
of the sector. As well as formation courses, the
techniques of radio and television broadcasting,
and the production of advertisements and films
are also taught.
The Programme of Climate Control and Cooling
was instigated by the Higher Education Council
(YÖK) and the World Bank Industrial Education
Project in 1987 to train climatization-refrigeration
technicians. This generally covers processes in
climatization and refrigeration, the heating, cooling,
purification of air and the control of air speed and
humidity. The field not only involves human
comfort, but also specific industrial uses. High
achievers among the alumni can pursue their
education at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
