The Faculty of Political Sciences consists of the Departments of Public Administration and International Relations.The aim is the teaching of theoretical and applied subjects systematically and through the use of modern equipment and apparel. The Department of International Relations fulfills an important function in the present time, when globalization is getting intensified, the relationship between nations changes every day, and these relations have direct impact upon the lives of individuals. The department, which studies international relations and their various dimensions, aims to teach students an up-to-date knowledge of world literature on the subject.The ultimate purpose is to give students the framework necessary to understand international issues. The duration of education, including a year’s preparation in learning English, is ten terms (five years).
The working language is Turkish, though 30% of the curriculum is carried out in English.
The Department of Public Administration aims to train public and private administrators who can closely follow the conditions and developments of the world and of the country, and who are equipped with modern knowledge and skills. Alumni work as both district officials and administrative arbitrators and taxation judges, and as national and international administrative cadres at state institutions like the State Planning Commission, the Audit Department, or the Contention Commission.
