The Faculty of Business Management was
founded in 1968 as the first faculty of its kind
in Turkey. The aim was to train skilled and able
candidates equipped with the knowledge necessary
to take active part in the national and international
relationships of Turkey for management posts in
the world of business. Education at this faculty,
the foundations of which were established by the
Harvard Business School is carried out at the
Avcilar Campus.
Alumni of the faculty have reached important
positions in state management, and in the higher
echelons
|
of public and private enterprises in
Turkey, and have the means to influence the
higher education and economy of the country.
The motto of the faculty has always been “Quality
in Management training”. Thus, in an “Evaluation
of the Academic Performance of Faculties
Undertaking Management Education” survey
undertaken in recent years by independent sources
for the Higher Education Council, the faculty
rated among the best.

The Faculty of Business Management is in close
contact with foreign universities and is giving
precedence to the exchange of members and
students with these institutions. Students sent to
the University of Virginia in the United States
of America in accordance with this programme
have already received their degrees from this
university. Students from overseas are currently
being trained at the faculty.
Alongside the management programmes in English
and Turkish, night school offers the same
programme in Turkish. The duration of
|
education
is eight terms (four years) and there are eight
departments. The Institute of Management Economics
and eight Research and Application Centres also
function in conjunction with the faculty.
Conferences, panels, and academic congresses are
part of the educational programme, and social
activities arranged by the student clubs take place
at the Faculty of Business Management Auditorium,
the largest on the Avcilar campus.
