To Our Students Who Has Taken Fine Arts Classes
Fine Arts classes are arranged according to article 5/i of Higher Education Law numbered 2547, article 13/d of , and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. The classes are held in the 1st and the 2nd semester 1 hour per week.
-The Objectives of the Classes: To pay attention to different branches of Fine Arts, to provide information and by the light of these, to offer a wide point of view to the students who are maintaining their education in different branches.
-Turkey has an essential background in different branches of Fine Arts, and it is kept as a concept of 'Cultural Inheritance' . And when it is considered as the citizenship mission of the young and intellectual new generation, it is important to emphasize to protect something is through knowing it. Therefore the classes are classified as follows: 'Anatolian Civilizations', 'Traditional Turkish Arts' and ' Western Art'.The titles of ' Fine Arts(Painting, Sculpture, Architecture) in Turkish Republic Period' and 'Museums in Turkish Republic' can be found in the website.
-Starting from the date 11.05.2000 'The Lesson Notes of Fine Arts' manual's full text ,and the attached 'related laws', and 'the dictionary' are available in the website of İstanbul University. The books will be lend by one of our tutors, in order to be photocopied at our students request.
-Attendance to the classes is a principal. Besides in every semester at least one practice and evaluation work must be given and ,the tutor will give classes based on 'test evaluation' in order to determine the students that pass or fail the test at the end of the semester.
-Vezneciler Kuyucu Murat Paşa Medrese Hall(the historical building, flanked of Faculty of Science) that is assigned to The Directorship of The Fine Arts is renovated by İstanbul University Rectorate. There has been started to hold an exhibition, a conference or a concert in every month. Activities will be announced on boards monthly.
-The tutors will be ready to answer the questions of the students in the department directorship Office, in office hours. For the questions regarding to the practices, department members will try to help in class hours or out of class hours.
-We rely on our students who definetely has the necessary faith to go beyond the Modern Civilization concept and who will be deeply devoted to the saying :' To be a student of İstanbul University is a privilege'. We hope that the new academic year will be efficient for all of our students and we also wish that they will all be successful.
