This website presents electronic material on selected topics of my research interests as well as various teaching material related to the lectures that I have been giving at the Department of Geological Engineering, Istanbul University.
It covers topics in volcanology, magmatic petrology and geochemistry with special reference to collision- and extension-related volcanisms in Turkey. The website especially focuses on magmatic evolution and genesis of volcanic sequences in Eastern & Central Anatolia and in Western Pontides, varying in age from Early Cretaceous to recent. A section on petrologic modeling of magmatic processes such as fractional crystallization (FC) and assimilation combined with fractional crystallization (AFC) is also covered in this web-site. Also presented in this section are the spreadsheet programs that I have produced for modeling these processes.
