100th anniversary of the end of World War I (WWI). Entitled “Homecoming Soldier. War and Society”


As the Faculty of Literature in Istanbul University, we are organizing an international congress in the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I (WWI). Entitled “Homecoming Soldier. War and Society” this congress aims to discuss WWI in both the narrow and wide sense the study of war in terms of social sciences i.e. history, literature, sociology, law, finance, psychology, art history, etc. One of the main objectives of this congress is to determine in the local and the global scales the effects of the wars, which are unfortunately an inseparable part of human history, on societies and to express its effects on civilizing process. Panel suggestions will also be accepted in the congress. The abstracts of the accepted papers will be published as an e-book before the congress. The presented papers, after a selection process, will be collected in edited books according to their related scientific fields. Moreover, it is expected that the latest information and the conclusions reached in the light of this congress will contribute to the world literature of war.

We would be very glad to see you in the congress with a presentation/ panel/ poster presentation in such a crucial congress held by the Faculty of Literature in Istanbul University, which is one of the Turkey’s most distinguished institutions in the field of social sciences.
