· University Faculty of Pharmacy, the first Pharmacy education institution in Turkey, started to give education in 1839 with the Pharmacist class which was a part of Military Medical School

1876, a civil Pharmacy class had started education as a part of  Civil Medical School.In 1909, the first School of Pharmacists had been established with the opening of School of Pharmacists, Faculty of Medicine, Osmani University. In 1933, School of Pharmacists had joined Istanbul University Faculty of Science with the University Reform, and then Faculty of Medicine in 1944. In 1962, the school became a faculty and changed into Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy.

       · Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy accepts the biggest number of students, has the biggest number of books, research publications among all the pharmacy faculties.

       · Education of Pharmacy has been extended to 5 years, beginning from 2005-2006  schooling years..Students of Faculty of Pharmacy, earn the title "Pharmacist" after their bachelor's degree.  Alumnis may prefer continuing with a doctorate or masters degree if they want.

       · Faculty of Pharmacy, which  always takes place at the top of research publication ranking, has 28 professors, 9 docents, 15 vice docents and 42 instructors as it's staff.
